14 months

As we approach (oh heck, we are only one day away from 14 months, so we'll say we're there, not approaching) 14 months since our LID, I'm realizing I've been in somewhat of an adoption funk. Not sure what I really mean by that, but I've been so swamped with work, that I haven't really thought about it all that much lately. I sort of feel like it is not real or that we have just gotten complacent about it. Not that we aren't still excited, it's just hard to stay "up" about something that is just not progressing. It's just occasionally something that we discuss; although, we continue to pray for Ally the little girl. We have not forgotten about her. I finally feel that we are 'close enough' to our date (cough, cough) that surely (oh how I have over-used that word) she is now born and living in China! That is good to think about. But it is sad too, since we still have no real good idea of how much longer we have to go. Who knows? I haven't even put the numbers in for Feb since the CNY messed up when referrals go out. We have just waited so long now and life has gone on and not changed, so it's a bit of a bummer...

Didn't really say anything worth saying, but I just hope we see some progress soon, so that maybe it will seem real again. Like "we're really doing this." Lauren is the artist this month! She chose Lady Bugs to decorate the 14!

Lots of Updates!

None of our updates have anything to do with the adoption, but we have been pretty busy in the last few weeks!

Lauren had her b'day party (10th) at the Country Inn and Suites with 5 friends. We had a room, the girls swam, ate pizza, did "spa" things and slept a little! Very fun -- Sara and I got the sleeper sofa and Doug went home after delivering the pizza.

This past weekend we went (along with the high school band) to NYC on a bus! We saw "Spamalot" and "Wicked" on Broadway, Medieval Times, tours, and shopping! A great trip.

Not much has changed in our little world of adoption! Hoping for an update (progress) soon!
